Move over, fluffy Coke, this Whipped Dr. Pepper is a creamy frozen treat that’s so easy to throw together and a must-make for Dr. Pepper fans!

This three-ingredient frozen drink is perfect for both kids and adults. Prefer Root Beer or Cherry Coke? You can easily use this recipe and substitute it with your preferred soda (or diet or zero-calorie soda).
What is Whipped Dr. Pepper?
This delicious creamy frozen treat starts by blending frozen Dr. Pepper ice cubes (easily made in an ice cube tray the day ahead) with ice-cold Dr. Pepper and a splash of cream or vanilla creamer. The result is a frothy, creamy blended treat reminiscent of a root beer float but less indulgent.
Key Ingredients
Dr. Pepper Ice Cubes – by loading up an ice cube tray with the delicious soda and freezing it the day ahead. If you use regular ice, it will dilute the soda flavor.
Dr. Pepper – it wouldn’t be whipped Dr. Pepper without the star ingredient!
Cream or Vanilla Creamer – To add creaminess, we’ll use heavy cream or half-and-half. However, if you prefer a sweeter taste, vanilla coffee creamer works great!
Whipped Cream – to finish it off, a swirl of whipped cream on top is the perfect touch.
How to Make Whipped Dr. Pepper
A day ahead, use one can of Dr. Pepper soda and divide it among an ice cube tray. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until frozen solid (times may vary depending on the size of the ice cube tray).
In a blender, add the frozen soda ice cubes. Add an ice-cold, refrigerated can of Dr. Pepper and cream, and blend until smooth, with no chunks remaining.
Pour into a glass, leaving a few inches of space at the top. Stir in a little more refrigerated Dr. Pepper, then top with a dollop of whipped cream.
Variations and Tips
- Make it Tipsy – for an adult beverage, you can add in a shot of RumChata, Bailey’s, or Vanilla Whisky.
- Sweeten it Up – rather than using a splash of cream, swap it out for vanilla creamer or white chocolate creamer.
- Amp up the Indulgence – rather than using cream, use two scoops of vanilla ice cream instead.
