Whipped Apple Cider

If you are like me, you love frozen and iced drinks year-round. And because I am not always in the mood for coffee (especially later in the day), I am always looking for ways to make drinks fun! This whipped apple cider is one of my favorite innovations so far.

This whipped apple cider starts with 100% fresh apple cider. Similar to the Whipped Dr. Pepper, we use homemade frozen apple cider cubes, which are blended with more fresh apple cider and a little cream to create a whipped, decadent flavor without being overly indulgent. I also add a drizzle of caramel to get a caramel apple taste and it’s absolutely yummy and all the fall vibes.

Key Ingredients

The best part of this recipe, besides the obviously delicious fall flavors, is that it uses only three ingredients. It does require a little planning ahead with the frozen apple cider cubes, so be sure to review my recipe card at the bottom of the page for details.

100% Fresh Apple Cider – we’ll use some to freeze in an ice cube tray and the rest for the base of the drink. You can usually find this in the produce section of the supermarket in the fall. Apple juice can be substituted if you cannot find apple cider.

Caramel Sauce or Syrup – you can use either a syrup like Torani salted caramel or just a drizzle of caramel sauce. I used the Torani or Ghirardelli squeeze bottle. I also decorated the glass with a little caramel for aesthetics.

Heavy Cream – this adds creaminess and gives a frappe texture.

Whipped Cream – this is optional, but whipped cream and a dust of cinnamon is surely a fun addition to this whipped apple cider.

How to Make Whipped Apple Cider

At least 4-6 hours ahead, add 12 ounces of apple cider to an ice cube tray and freeze until solid.

Once frozen, add the apple cider ice cubes to a blender, pour in the apple cider, cream, and caramel (caramel sauce or salted caramel syrup). Blend until smooth.

Optionally, swirl some caramel sauce inside the glasses for decoration. Pour in the whipped apple cider. If you’re using whipped cream on top (why wouldn’t you? lol) leave a little room at the top for a swirl of whipped cream. I also dust with cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
