I am excited to introduce you to this easy one-pan Sun-dried Tomato Pasta! It’s such a versatile recipe, takes 15 minutes and uses just a handful of ingredients. This is a recipe to keep in your back pocket for busy workdays.
Why You’ll Love One-Pan Sun-dried Tomato Pasta
Full of garlic, tangy sun-dried tomatoes, delicate angel hair pasta, parmesan, and a little butter for decadence, you’ll adore this comforting one-pan pasta. What’s even better is that it’s not overly indulgent.
This pasta is on the lighter side, and you can use this recipe with a chickepea or protein pasta. Plus, for added protein, you can swap the chicken stock for bone broth as the broth gets absorbed into the pasta and doesn’t get drained out.
Just pair this with shrimp, chicken (even rotisserie works!), salmon or even ground sausage for a super tasty dinner.

Key Ingredients
Using just six primary ingredients, you can make this tasty one-pan sun-dried tomato pasta in under 15 minutes!
Angel Hair Pasta – a delicate thinner version of spaghetti is my preferred for this pasta, although spaghetti bucatini works just as well. They just made need a few extra minutes in the pan liquid.
Chicken Stock – a more flavorful option than just chicken broth. You can use bone broth for extra protein since the stock is absorbed into the pasta and not drained out.
Garlic – fresh garlic is my preferred choice with all dishes, I use a garlic press or garlic twister to get my garlic minced 10x as fast.
Sun-dried Tomatoes – we’ll use the sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil rather than the dried sun-dried tomatoes.
Parmesan Cheese – a handful of parmesan cheese is all you need.
Half and Half – just a 1/2 cup adds a bit of creaminess.
Seasonings – Italian seasoning, salt and pepper is all you’ll need. Red pepper flakes are optional if you want to add a little heat.
Optionally, Cream Cheese – you can add 2 tablespoons of cream cheese if you want a thicker, creamier cream sauce.
How to Make One-Pan Sun-dried Tomato Pasta
Add the Ingredients Into A Pot
Over medium-low, add butter and garlic to a pan, saute about 1 minute or until fragrant. Pour in the chicken stock, sun-dried tomatoes, and seasonings. Slowly pour in the half and half then bring to a gentle boil.
Add the pasta in, allowing it to sit for 30 seconds or so until you can maneuver it down into the liquid without breaking the pasta.
Simmer Pasta
Allow pasta to cook submerged in simmering liquid for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to simmer and add cream cheese if using, letting it melt into the sauce. Continue to cook until pasta is al dente.
Finish it Off
Sprinkle over the parmesan and add more salt and pepper if needed. You can add a splash more chicken stock or half and half if needed to add a little more liquidity to your pasta if it absorbs all the pan sauce.
Additions and Variations
This one-pan sun-dried tomato pasta is so versatile and easily accommodates a number of proteins. You can also make this your own, here are some variations I like to make:
You can squeeze over lemon juice (of half a lemon) and even add some fresh lemon zest on top of the pasta once it’s finished cooking.
If you like white wine sauce, you can add dry white wine, a variety that’s good enough to drink. You’ll add this along with the butter and garlic, simmering it for 3-4 minutes so it can reduce by half the volume. Then continue with the remaining recipe steps adding chicken stock, etc.
Add Basil – such a simple addition, but fresh torn basil adds some a beautiful flavor to this easy pasta dish and works so well with the sun-dried tomatoes.

This is a great easy one pot recipe, and it’s great for adapting too.
I made it as written the first time and it was delicious, my kids loved it too.
Then the 2nd time I used a handful of cut cherry tomatoes instead of sundried (I don’t super love sundried), and sautéed them with the butter and garlic till broken down a little. I like to add chopped asparagus or broccoli at the same time as the uncooked pasta. Served it with some cooked chicken.
Thanks for such a easy meal
This pasta is so good that I have made it 3x in the last week ha!! It’s the perfect one pot meal that you can easily switch up by adding protein or other veggies to. We’ve done it with chicken and mussels. So yummy.
Mussels are a great idea!! I am glad you loved it as much as we did. I could easily have this on a weekly basis.
This was delicious!
