Key Ingredients

The only homemade part of these Little Caesars Crazy Puffs is the decadent alfredo sauce and garlic butter. Everything you can grab at the supermarket, making this such an easy recipe:

Rotisserie Chicken – using a rotisserie chicken saves so much time in this recipe, but of course you can use any version of boneless, diced cooked chicken.

Bacon – crispy bacon is stuffed inside of these chicken alfredo pizza puffs for the smoky saltiness and crispy texture.

Alfredo Sauce – a homemade creamy garlicky sauce that everyone absolutely adores. It’s worth the extra effort as jarred sauce doesn’t compare.

Premade Pizza Crust – I usually opt for a can of the Pillsbury pizza crust for this recipe. You could certainly get a better quality or make your dough from scratch.

Mozzarella – freshly shredded mozzarella is always ideal for a bag of pre-shredded works too (it just doesn’t melt as good!).

Garlic Butter Sauce – a combination of butter, garlic, parmesan, parsley and red pepper flakes. It’s the ultimate garlic butter.

How to Make Little Caesar’s Crazy Puffs

Here is a summary of how to make these easy chicken alfredo pizza cups. Be sure to review the detailed step-by-step recipe card (below) for the full instructions.

Make the Alfredo Sauce

Melt the butter in a skillet with the garlic. Add in the heavy cream, parmesan and seasonings. Allow to thicken and set aside or refrigerate if making ahead.

Build the Crazy Puffs

Combine the butter and garlic and spread into the muffin pan cups, brushing it up the sides. Cut the pizza dough into 12 equal sized rounds using a circle cookie cutter or the lid of a wide-mouth glass. Press the dough into the muffin cups. Add in the toppings, alfredo sauce and top with mozzarella cheese.

How to Tell if Pizza Puffs are Cooked Through?

You want to be sure the crust is fully baked. It can be easy to see the tops turn golden brown and assume the bottoms are cooked through, but they can still be slightly be doughy at the bottom. Be sure to pull one of the puffs out to ensure it’s cooked through on the underside. The bottoms should be a light golden brown and the top edges should be darker golden and crispy, as shown below:

Can you Freeze Crazy Puffs?

Yes, absolutely. It’s best to allow them to fully cool, then individually wrap them in plastic wrap then place in a zip-top bag. Or, you can pack them into food saver bags and seal up. They freeze for up to 3 months.

How to Reheat Little Caesars Crazy Puffs?

The best way to reheat pizza puffs is in the air fryer. Turn it to 400 degrees, place a layer of foil on top of the puffs, tenting it slightly so the foil doesn’t blow around. Cook for 4-5 minutes from the refrigerator and the taste and texture are just like fresh baked. Alternately, you can cook them in the oven on a lined baking sheet at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until warmed through, crisp and the cheese is bubbly.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury classic pizza crust 12.4 oz can
  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken, diced
  • 8 strips bacon, cooked crispy
  • 2.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Alfredo Sauce

  • 1 stick (8 tbsp) butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2.5 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1-2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Garlic Parmesan Butter

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

Alfredo Sauce

  • In a skillet over medium low, melt 1 stick butter, then add in the garlic and saute about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the cream slowly whisking to combine with the butter. Allow the cream to simmer about 5 minutes.
  • To the cream, add in the parmesan, whisking until it melts and incorporates. Allow to simmer about 2-3 minutes until it thickens. Taste and adjust salt, pepper and red pepper flakes as needed.

Pizza Puffs

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees (400 degrees if using thin crust)
  • In a small bowl combine 6 tablespoons butter and 3 cloves minced garlic. Heat together in the microwave until partially melted.
  • Brush garlic butter into the bottom and sides of the muffin pan cups ensuring each cavity is well greased. To the leftover garlic butter, add the remaining ingredients: parmesan, parsley and red pepper flakes.
  • Roll out the dough to approximately 10x15 rectangle, cut into 12 equal sized circles (use the lid of a glass for this). Press the dough into each muffin cup, working it up the sides.
  • Start with a thin layer of cheese at the bottom (to prevent sogginess), then a spoonful of diced chicken, a hefty dollop of sauce and a spoonful of bacon pieces.
  • Finish off each pizza puff with a rooftop of mozzarella cheese. Use a large handful to cover the tops of each cup.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-14 minutes, turning the pan halfway through.
  • Reheat the leftover garlic parmesan butter in the microwave until it's partially melted and use a basting brush to coat the tops of each pizza puff with butter topping. Serve with warm leftover alfredo sauce.

Notes

The alfredo sauce can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days before using. No rewarming is needed, just add to the pizza puffs as instructed before baking.
Note that garlic is used in the alfredo sauce and the butter topping, so keep that in mind when you're mincing that you mince enough for both items.
If you're using Pillsbury thin pizza crust, adjust cook temp to 400 degrees.
