Rosé Pasta is a creamy pink pasta sauce made of cream, tomato paste, garlic and parmesan. Then it’s topped with chicken for an easy meal! This 20 minute recipe couldn’t be easier for a busy weeknight.
Why You’ll Love Rosé Pasta
You’ll love how easy this pasta is to throw together. It’s a decadent red sauce combines heavy cream with tomato paste to create a smooth and creamy pasta sauce that’s full of garlicky flavor and parmesan.
Use your favorite pasta shape, short or long, and add in your favorite protein. This rose pasta sauce, also known as pink sauce, pairs well with salmon, shrimp, and chicken.
Even making a protein this chicken rosé pasta only takes about 20 minutes to throw together. The pasta boils while the easy pan sauce is made and it all comes together easily for a hearty, tasty dinner.
Key Ingredients
Here is the simple list of ingredients you’ll need for this chicken rosé pasta:
Chicken breasts – boneless, skinless breasts are used. You can also sub shrimp, salmon or your favorite protein.
Pasta – bow tie pasta or your preferred short or long pasta. Whatever you have on-hand works!
Garlic – fresh garlic is important here. To save time, grab a garlic press or garlic roller.
Tomato paste – this is the base for the homemade rosé sauce.
Heavy cream – this adds decadence and comfort to this easy pasta recipe. You can also swap for half & half.
Chicken stock – or broth adds a little more liquid and flavor to the sauce.
Parmesan – freshly grated parm cheese adds sharpness and the great parmesan flavor we all love.
Seasonings – salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, dried basil, dried oregano
Basil – I love fresh basil on top to add herbaceous flavor.
How to Make Chicken Rosé Pasta
Cook the Chicken
Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and liberally season with Italian seasoning.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil while cooking the chicken.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons olive oil. Add in the chicken and cook about 4 minutes per side or until cooked through. Set chicken aside on a plate under tented foil.
Cook Pasta and Sauce
Get the pasta cooked to al dente while the sauce comes together.
In the same pan over medium-low heat, add in another tablespoon olive oil, add the garlic and saute until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Scoop in the tomato paste and stir together with the garlic.
Slowly whisk in the heavy cream incorporating it with the tomato paste. Pour in the chicken stock and seasonings, continuing to whisk until smooth. Add in the parmesan and a 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Finish it Off
Bring the sauce to a low boil and fold in the cooked pasta.
Top the pasta with fresh basil, extra parmesan and freshly cracked pepper.
How to Reheat Rosé Pasta
This pink pasta sauce reheats just as easily as any other creamy pasta sauce. Once pasta sits it will absorb some of the liquid, so it’s best to add a splash of chicken broth/stock and a splash of cream before reheating.
Just reheat your desired portion in a bowl along with a few splashes of liquid and heat about 1.5 minutes or until it’s warmed through.
