Viral TikTok Boursin Tomato Pasta
Quick and Easy – there is barely any prep needed in this Boursin tomato pasta recipe. Everything is loaded into a deep pan and then thrown in the oven. We’ll boil up some pasta while it bakes, toss it all together, and you have dinner in 30 minutes.
Super Versatile – chicken breasts or ground Italian sausage also work great if you prefer it over salmon, or you can make this as a great meatless pasta. You can also add
Fresh, Simple Ingredients – loaded with tomatoes, garlic, spinach, soft Boursin cheese, capers, lemon, parmesan, and salmon. It doesn’t get any more delicious and wholesome.
High Protein – This dish is loaded with salmon, and for an extra protein boost, I love opting for a chickpea-based pasta that has lots of protein and fewer carbs.
Key Ingredients
Salmon – skinless salmon fillets.
Boursin Cheese – a whole block is used. My favorite flavors for this recipe are basil & chive or garlic & fine herbs.
Pasta – I used linguine for this recipe, but the options are endless for the types of pasta that can be used, from orzo to fettuccine.
Tomatoes – arguably the best part of the dish. Not only do the grape tomatoes just burst in your mouth, but their juices are the base of the sauce. Be sure to choose a quality brand. I love buying one Sunset Sugar Bombs (all red tomatoes) and one pint of Sunset Wild Wonders (multi-colored).
Spinach – fresh spinach is a great way to add greens to this dish. It pairs so well with the tomatoes and salmon.
Capers – these add a briny tang. Easy to leave out if it’s not your vibe (these seem to be a love-it-or-hate-it ingredient).
Seasonings – a simple combination of salt, cracked pepper, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. You can also add fresh basil at the end when you mix the tomato mixture with the pasta, and leave out the dried basil.
Parmesan – freshly grated parmesan off the rind is always ideal for maximum flavor.
Lemon – this brightens up the dish with vibrance and the citrus tanginess we love!
How to Make Boursin Tomato Pasta with Salmon
Bake the tomatoes-boursin mixture
In a large, deep braising pan, add the puck of Boursin cheese. Drizzle the olive oil at the bottom of the pan, around the cheese. Add the salmon on one side and pack the spinach into the opposite side.
Add the tomatoes all around the pan, followed by garlic, capers, and seasonings (and add the wine if using). Cover with the lid and place in the 400 degree oven for 25 minutes.
Make the pasta
While the ingredients are baking, bring a large pot of water to boil and cook the pasta to al dente according to the package instructions. Reserve a 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Toss it all together + eat!
Remove the pan from the oven and use a large fork to break up some of the tomatoes (leaving some whole), mash the boursin cheese, and flake the salmon into chunks. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the other ingredients. Toss the pasta until it’s evenly incorporated with the toppings and pan sauce.
Grate the zest of one lemon over the top of the pasta, then squeeze in the juice. Add in the parmesan cheese and toss it with the pasta. Use a little pasta water if needed.
Finish off with extra red pepper flakes and cracked pepper.
Variations Ideas
- Pasta – Substitute linguini with orzo, bowtie pasta, or any other short pasta you prefer. You can also use fettuccini, angel hair or standard spaghetti noodles.
- High-Protein Boost – Choose a protein-dense pasta, such as chickpea pasta or lentil pasta. You can also just use whole wheat pasta for a more wholesome option.
- Wine Anyone? Once I took my first bite, I instantly regretted not having dry white wine be a part of this recipe. It’s an absolutely fantastic addition, and the alcohol cooks off as the wine simmers in the oven.
- Cheese – I love the classic Garlic Herb Boursin for this recipe (it currently calls for basil and chives). You can also use feta instead of Boursin. Or for extra creaminess, use one of each – a block of feta and a block of Boursin.
- Protein Swap – Chicken breasts or ground Italian sausage are my other two favorite pairings with this Boursin tomato pasta. They pair perfectly with the flavor profile.
- Extra Veggies – A delicious addition is diced red onion, asparagus tips, red pepper, or even zucchini, all of which are great to add.
How to Reheat Boursin Tomato Pasta
The best way to reheat any pasta dish is by adding a few splashes of liquid into the portion of pasta first. Broth will add more flavor, but water is just fine. Add in a few teaspoons of liquid, then reheat it until warmed through. This will rehydrate all the liquid the pasta absorbed.

Boursin Tomato Pasta with Salmon
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. salmon fillets skinless
- 5.3 oz puck Boursin cheese basil & chives or garlic & fine herbs
- 12 oz dry linguine or your favorite pasta
- 2 pints grape tomatoes red tomatoes and multi-colored if possible
- 5 ounces fresh spinach
- 3 tablespoons capers
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp cracked pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup dry white wine, optional pinot grigio, chardonnay or sauv blanc
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
- 1 lemon zest and juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a large, deep braising pan, add the puck of Boursin cheese. Drizzle the olive oil at the bottom of the pan, around the cheese. Add the salmon on one side and pack the spinach into the opposite side.
- Add the tomatoes all around the pan, followed by garlic, capers, and seasonings (and add the wine if using). Cover with the lid and place in the oven for 25 minutes.
- While the ingredients are baking, bring a large pot of water to boil and cook the pasta to al dente according to the package instructions. Reserve a 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Remove the pan from the oven and use a large fork to break up some of the tomatoes (leaving some whole), mash the boursin cheese, and flake the salmon into chunks. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the other ingredients. Toss the pasta until it’s evenly incorporated with the toppings and pan sauce.
- Grate the zest of one lemon over the top of the pasta, then squeeze in the juice. Add in the parmesan cheese and toss it with the pasta. Use a little pasta water if needed.
- Finish off with extra red pepper flakes and cracked pepper.
Notes
- Use high-protein pasta for fewer carbs and more protein.
- It’s perfectly fine to skip the wine; you’ll likely need a bit of reserved pasta water at the end when you toss everything together, as the pasta will absorb the sauce.
- To reheat, add a splash of broth or water before heating to rehydrate the pasta.
- If you don’t like capers, just omit them.
