Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh cherries pitted
  • 4 juicy limes segmented with the white pith removed
  • zest of 3 limes
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups water for blending
  • 1½ to 2 cups additional water to taste

For Serving

  • ice
  • fresh cherries optional
  • lime slices optional

Instructions

Blend the Fruit

  • Add the cherries, segmented limes, lime zest, and 2 cups of water to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.

Strain

  • Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing to extract as much juice as possible. Skip this step if you prefer a little fruit pulp.

Finish the Drink

  • Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully combined.
  • Add 1½ to 2 cups additional water, stirring and tasting until the limeade reaches your preferred consistency.
  • Serve over glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh cherries or lime slices, if desired.

Notes

Remove the white pith from the limes. It can make the drink taste bitter.
Adjust the water to your taste. The exact amount will depend on how juicy your fruit is and how concentrated you like your limeade.
Strain for a silky-smooth drink. Leaving the pulp creates a thicker, more rustic texture.
Don't add ice directly to the pitcher. Serve over ice in individual glasses so the drink doesn't become diluted as it sits.
