Easy Garlic Bread

This easy garlic bread recipe starts with a pre-made tube of pizza dough, is smothered in a homemade butter sauce chock-full of fresh garlic, topped with an (un)healthy amount of mozzarella cheese and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 11 oz refrigerated pre-made pizza crust like Pillsbury
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups mozzarella, shredded

Garlic Butter Spread

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 5 large cloves garlic, minced if small cloves, use 7-8
  • 1/3 cup parmesan, grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced or 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes less or more if desired

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium bowl, partially melt the butter. Add in the garlic, parmesan, red pepper flakes and parsley. Mix well until combined.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to roughly a 10x15 rectangle shape.
  • Spread the remaining garlic butter (melting again if needed) over the top of the cheese bread  edge-to-edge, or just over the crust if you prefer. Slice into your desired sized pieces and serve.
  • Brush the garlic butter across the entire dough edge to edge. Reserve the remaining sauce from brushing again after it bakes.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese across the entire surface area. Place on a non-stick pan and bake in the center rack.
  • Bake for 10-14 minutes, monitor it at 10 minutes to ensure it doesn't brown too quickly. Once crust is a golden brown, it's ready.
