September 16, 2017 at 5:44 pm Haha! These are probably the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. Even though it's a bit time consuming with the four different elements (cake, ganache, filling, swirl). It's worth every minute in the kitchen. And even easier if you make-ahead the filling and swirl. But there is a bit of self loathing that comes shortly after you realize you have zero self control after taking your first bite :) LOL when you make them, let me know what you think!

September 26, 2017 at 9:01 pm Hi Jessica - all of the ingredients are definitely there. I just went back through and confirmed each line... It looks like the recipe somehow broke the filling ingredients into two sections, so they were spread out in the recipe. So glad you caught this error! That would've been frustrating. I corrected it and now it should read perfectly. Thanks again!! :)

June 21, 2018 at 2:44 pm Good question! It's absolutely perfect without protein powder. Sometimes I do it that way too. You don't really need to change the measurements at all. Sometimes I will add a splash more or less almond milk based on how it's blending together. If you still wanted to add a little chocolate flavor, you could always add a few teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa powder. Let me know how you like it :)

August 9, 2018 at 10:06 pm You can also make this by melting whatever flavor baking chips you like (butterscotch, chocolate, peanut butter, white chocolate, etc) and adding coconut oil. It will harden immediately when it hits the ice cream. Maybe not exactly the same as DQ, but still really great. I don't know how to replicate the cherry shell, though. That one is beautiful!

September 8, 2019 at 8:41 pm Hi Angela! Great question. The recipe is intended to use the combination of bread & cake flours to get the perfect soft and chewy texture. The bread flour always requires a bit more moisture, hence the reason for the two egg yolks and brown sugar instead of all granulated white sugar. I experimented with a few different measurements and flour types before I achieved (what seems to me) to be the perfect Sweet Martha's cookie!

Everyone here in Atlanta thinks I am crazy when I ask for it at restaurants. I feel so misunderstood haha. I hope you do make this recipe, you will be the happiest person! I make it almost once a month, it's my husbands #1 favorite recipe and he was one of the people who heard me talk about it for years and didn't understand. Now he won't touch the saucy type of sesame chicken, he only wants it crunchy and from my kitchen. Please keep me updated if you try it :)

January 26, 2020 at 2:08 pm The McGriddles can definitely be frozen and microwaved when ready to eat. When making them ahead, allow them to cool completely and put them in an airtight container to avoid freezer burn. I haven't attempted to freeze and re-heat fried chicken, but you can freeze it and reheat it in an oven at 375 for about 10-15 minutes. Hope you enjoy these!

March 3, 2020 at 2:11 am Hi Jake - I am so sorry to hear that! Sounds like something went wrong. Did you use ice? I know that's a silly question but I am wondering how it wasn't cold if ice was used. Not roasting the banana shouldn't really change the texture, temperature or make it dry. It will just affect the flavor a bit. Perhaps try using a bit more almond milk. I find that with smoothies, each time I have to always make small tweaks, they just never come out identical each time. If it's too thick just add a few splashes of almond milk / milk into your smoothie until it looses up a little. You can also cut back on the oats a bit as well. Sure hope this works out better for you the next time you try it. I usually get rave reviews and wish you had the same experience.

April 26, 2020 at 12:01 am I was looking for a recipe that showed the ingredients that was on the menu. So far none show Fontina cheese but yours. Yet yours is not showing Romano cheese. Can I substitute the Philadelphia Cream Cheese for the Romano cheese or do I just add 4 oz of Romano cheese to the recipe? I hate they stopped selling it. I used to just do a order of the fondue for take-out cause I loved it. I never even thought it had cream cheese I would had imagine it had more equal parts but if not then to make it more fondue like then more fontina cheese and more mozzarella just cause its the cheapest to put in. Give me your thoughts I need them. On yelp they have an old menu that shows what cheeses were in it I would assume if cream cheese was in it they would had written cream cheese.

April 26, 2020 at 12:55 am Hi Liz, I tried it a few different ways but found cream cheese gave it the texture I was looking for and elevated the dish. Parmesan and Romano are easily interchangeable, Romano is a bit more pungent/salty so you can easily swap the parm for Romano! The key to the whole recipe is freshly grated cheese. This recipe is soooo incredible you will be very happy you made it. Let me tell you, I actually forgot how much I loved it. I decided to make it for an Oscar party this year along with a bunch of other fun appetizers but I ended up making a whole meal out of just this Fonduta! Let me know how you like it :-)

If so, I’d bake it at home but save the tomato and broil step for when you reheat in the oven. Then it will heat the cheese back up, brown the top and warm the tomatoes. the tomatoes will weep if you put them on too early. I hope that helps! Let me know how it goes!

I see that you say to start with the almond milk but not the amount. I am just beginning to make smoothies and haven't quite figured out the portions yet. However, I am excited to try this recipe. September 8, 2020 at 5:40 pm It is 1 cup of almond milk! You should find that amount to be successful, if you like your smoothies thinner in texture you can always add more almond milk after it blends and blend for a second round. Thanks so much for the feedback, I am sure it would help my SEO If I rambled more LOL, but I much prefer a user friendly experience for my readers than to “pay the price” by long page loads full of ads and 500 feet of blah blah blah before getting to the recipe. March 28, 2021 at 9:00 pm Actually 4.5 stars. I'm mainly looking for the sauce copycat. I've tried a few and this is by the closest. In fact, it is close enough to where I think I can improve on it and do better than the original. Thanks much.

August 11, 2021 at 2:17 pm Hi Cynthia - I have found these in two main places. Some grocery stores sell Flipz brand "Stuff'd" pretzels. Those are the ones I used and they are delicious! You can locate them here: https://www.flipz.com/find-a-store/ I just put in a random Portland zip code and found them at CVS Pharmacy's. You can also buy Trader Joe's brand and those are sold nationwide at TJ's stores. These ones are not as good as Flipz (surprisingly) but they are still really good! Hopefully one of those two will help :)

October 11, 2021 at 4:47 pm Hi Allison, I typically use canola or vegetable oil which I find is most economical for frying foods. You can also use peanut oil or any oil you prefer that has a high smoke point.

October 30, 2021 at 8:15 pm It’s a great question. They use roasted bananas in the store, so I am just duplicating how they do it. Fresh bananas still taste fantastic, I’ve done it this way many times. But roasting the bananas brings out a deeper, toasty flavor.

December 25, 2021 at 10:39 pm I haven’t tried this recipe yet because I just got a blender for Christmas! This is my addiction for TS and am thrilled I can make it at home now. February 23, 2022 at 2:52 pm Soooooo I must have done something terribly wrong. My mix was more of a cookie dough or biscuit dough. I was so excited to make these because I love pistachio, and I triple checked my ingredients and didn’t miss anything but I was short on liquid somewhere. My only change was using Cup 4 Cup gluten free flour (I can’t eat wheat) which supposedly can be a straight substitute for standard flour. Any pointers? March 13, 2022 at 4:21 pm Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than wasted ingredients! Yes, the dough is very thick, which I will make sure to emphasize in my recipe. But the 2 cups of flour can be too much if it's not spoon measured and it can also thicken if it's over-mixed. I re-made them this weekend and recorded a video which I'll post soon to help show the texture of the dough. I hope you get a chance to try these again!

May 8, 2023 at 8:08 pm I made this for our weekly Sunday night family dinner. It was pretty straight forward. I followed the recipe….almost (I didn’t sauté the onions and garlic at the same time. I waited until right before adding the bulk of the ingredients. I didn’t want to burn my garlic!). These tacos are outstanding! One of my adult sons had 5 of them! Then the boys fought over who could take the leftovers home for lunch. These tacos have earned a spot on the meal rotation!

May 16, 2023 at 8:54 pm I have no words for this recipe, it's absolutely to die for. I found a reasonably priced small brisket last month and made this for taco Tuesday and I'm making another batch tomorrow. One small change, I pulled the brisket after 45 minutes in the pressure cooker, but it didn't pull apart, so I put it in for another 20 minutes or so. This time I will leave it in for at least 60 minutes before I depressurize. Probably one of the best pressure cooker brisket recipes online. So glad I stumbled onto this on Insta <3

June 16, 2023 at 4:18 am Hi Elise! I am so excited to hear you are going to make these tomorrow. Pan frying the tortillas really takes these to the next level, so it would be fun for you to try if you haven't before. Heat a skillet to medium low and add a few tablespoons of oil. Place 1-2 shells at a time into the skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side. You want them to have a little crisp but still soft and pliable. Place onto a paper towel lined plate and dab off the excess oil. I hope these are delicious! Report back and let us know how you and the fam liked them :)

July 2, 2023 at 7:13 pm These look divine! Will be making them next Saturday. Couple of questions: -do you have an air-fryer edition for the chicken? -in a pinch, do you think frozen chicken tenders made in air fryer are a reasonable substitute? -if unable to get fresh corn, do you recommend frozen for canned? -how many days in advance do you recommend making the corn and sauce? Above both mention making "ahead" but are you talking 1 day or up to 5 or more? Thank you! I'm so excited to try these (and as my 10-year old said: It's non-negotiable that we make this!)!

July 2, 2023 at 8:53 pm Hi Kristie! Ok first of all, wow your 10 year old is fantastic! What a great palate, he/she knows great food. To answer your questions: * Frozen or store-bought tenders work perfectly. I’ve ran through Popeyes or gone to the Publix deli to make these in a pinch. * I haven’t yet mastered a scratch-made “fried” chicken solely in the air fryer that didn’t come out dry. But of course you can use the air fryer if using frozen ones. * frozen corn would be the next best option, canned corn after that. * I like to make the corn and sauce 1-2 days ahead but it lasts up to 5 days in the fridge. So when it comes time to assemble it’s so easy! Let me know how these turn out for you guys!

July 9, 2023 at 12:25 pm Made these yesterday and they were fantastic! My picky son who hates sauces even said they were good. My husband had 3! I do recommend making the sauce and corn ahead of time, as stated (I did same day, but in the early afternoon so they had about 3 hours to sit). The only changes I made were to not grill fresh corn, but Green Giant actually has frozen street corn, so I used that. And I fried 2 tortillas and knew no one would want it like that, so I ate those myself and just warmed the others in the microwave for the fam. Oh, I used juice from banana peppers instead of pickle or jalapeno to marinate the chicken. So, no outrageous changes and as my daughter said, "These are to DIE for!!"

August 11, 2023 at 7:59 am This was incredible! I made these on a whim so I could not find brisket but the chuck roast worked out well. Super flavorful and easy to make. I used street taco sized flour tortillas, melted queso fresco and topped with meat. My husband ate 4 of them! Thank you for the wonderful recipe.

August 14, 2023 at 5:46 pm I just frozen another chicken skewer recipe I made. I used a food saver bag with the extra air removed (I'm sure a freezer ziplock would work just as well). To reheat, I put them in the air fryer for ~7 minutes at 370 and spread them with a little butter before reheating. They turned out perfect.

August 14, 2023 at 3:22 pm Hi Mallory - I am going to make your French silk cupcakes for a friend's birthday party. She absolutely loves French silk pie so I am hopeful she will love these as well. Two quick questions - how many cupcakes does the recipe make and do you notice the whiskey and/or Baileys in the recipe. Just asking because I would like it to taste as much like the pie as possible (as did you when you created it) so just wondering if the whiskey just enhances the chocolate or can you tell there is liquor in the cupcakes? Thank you! Jill

August 14, 2023 at 3:55 pm Hi Jill - That's so wonderful to hear. It makes about 14 cupcakes, I will make sure to get the yield added on there. These cupcakes are phenomenal and I'm hopeful she will love them. For the whiskey/bailey's, I'd compare the flavor to Bailey's chocolate mousse if you have ever had that before. It's a warmth and kick of liquor but it is pronounced. If you prefer to omit, you can keep the recipe as is and just don't add whiskey or Baileys. You can also just do 1-2 tablespoons instead. I hope that helps! Let me know how these turn out. One more thing to note, this recipe does have a few steps and I love to make either the cupcakes or the filling the day/evening before I need them so it's a bit easier when it comes time to make it.

August 25, 2023 at 1:34 pm Hi Mallory, I am making your chocolate silk pie cupcakes and in the ingredients for the batter you have 2 sticks of butter listed. Do those get added with the eggs and sour cream etc? I am assuming yes but your instructions don't list butter - just the ingredient list does.

August 19, 2023 at 8:43 pm We love this recipe. It is delicious and filling. I'd like to make a full recipe but freeze half of it for future use. Is that possible? Do I need to make any changes to the recipe before freezing? Thanks!

August 19, 2023 at 9:59 pm Hey Karen! Yes you can absolutely freeze this. Two ways… you can prepare it and top with cheese, then fully seal and freeze. When ready to bake, allow it to thaw completely, then bake to the instructions. Alternatively, you can reheat frozen leftover tetrazzini by allowing it to thaw completely then baking it in the oven at 300 degrees for about 1.5-2 hours, covered tightly in foil. Be sure to check on it throughout the bake time. Sometimes I like to add a splash of chicken broth on top in a few spots to help bring the moisture back that was absorbed into the pasta.

August 20, 2023 at 4:02 pm How much could I make ahead? I’m thinking the chicken and seasoning prep ahead of time. I want to make it for dinner tomorrow night

August 20, 2023 at 8:03 pm Hi Erin, I would cut the chicken into pieces and season it and place in a zip-top bag or bowl sealed with cling wrap in the fridge overnight. It’ll be even more flavorful! You can also make the garlic parm compound butter and refrigerate that as well and let skewers soak overnight. So tomorrow, just throw the chicken on the skewers and microwave your butter until it’s softened but not fully melted. It’ll be so easy!

August 23, 2023 at 4:38 pm In the recipe it says slow cook for 4 on high or 6 on low. At top of the recipe it says 5 hours. Which is better?

August 23, 2023 at 6:37 pm Hello! It’s really a matter of preference whether you’d like the finish time to be 4 hours out or 6 hours out from when you prepare it. The result will be the same. At the top of the recipe, I split the difference to give people an estimate of how long this recipe may take. When I cooked this, I used high for 4 hours and that’s usually my personal preference.

August 29, 2023 at 5:45 pm Probably silly question, but what Chipotle Adobe sauce do you use? And, where do you buy it? thanks.

August 29, 2023 at 6:43 pm Hi Kristen - not a silly question at all! Chipotles in adobo are in the Mexican foods section at the supermarket near the nacho jalapeños and other canned foods. Usually La Costeña and Embasa are the two most common at my stores. So you’ll use some of the chipotles in that can + some of the adobo sauce they are packed in. I hope that helps!

August 31, 2023 at 10:34 pm Hi! I am very excited to try these... Quick question... for the grated parmesan, should I grate a block of parmesan or use the kind of grated parmesan that comes in the plastic bottles found in grocery stores?

September 1, 2023 at 3:16 am Hey! Great question and funny enough, neither of those. I don't like the plastic bottles cause it's a little too fake/cheap tasting. I think it works on pizza better than in this recipe. Instead I use the prepared grated parmesan that you find in the cheese aisle. It usually comes in a tub. Shredded parm can also work if you don't find that, it just doesn't incorporate into the sauce as well as grated. Hope that helps :)
